after a few weeks of rest, the normal visit for NUS side finally resumed...
first of all, was the distributing of name tags which i was less blur compared to the other time, (wit the help of the same helpful volunteers!). the groups were den led to their 4 areas, hahhaa... yah.. this week i din kena the singing again...
i got the a & c instead which is making of lanterns for cny decor. i found it very familiar as we did something v similar for the MAF. so, i find that i can ownself teach the residents alr..heheh! but unfortunately, some residents are not v cooperative today so I have to "confiscate" their staples (actually is secretly take away the stapler so they they will concentrate on the latern making).. den oso have to try really hard to engage them in the lantern making..
other stations did egg sandwich, cny songs, obstacle course... the rest u all blog leh!
for the 2nd part of the programme we played the ball passing game at the hall there. those who got the ball when the music stop will kena fore-fit which include dancing, singing (in front of everyone!!!). i think they are really really v brave... and ppl like john can dance very well! hahha.. in the end, the residents so enjoy doing fore-fit that even those who nv kena went up to dance as well! SO, everyone got really entertained~! after that, we switched to playing musical chairs. haha... i realised that playing simple game like musical chairs with the residents can also be exciting when everyone go rush for seats altogether.
... and i think today's programme is very important cuz its like the last time we are seeing boon song alr. yup... so today everyone gave him alot of face by having dinner tog (which i believed made him so touched that he served food to all of us) cuz he's one very dedicated volunteer who has always been around -even before mindville was moved to hougang

today i was with the red group for funfit one. during the self-introduction, it was nice to see that roger could remember yongcheng's and xiongwei's name when they asked him, as well as the 2 of them discovering tze kong's hidden talent in multiplication tables.
the main activity itself was actually to allow the residents to move and coordinate their arms and legs. i liked the part where they had to dribble the ball round cones because the residents had to learn to be precise in the movements instead of kicking the ball once they see the ball. the bringing of the ball up the ramp could be improved by having some obstacles along the way as well, or some activities for them to do, so that they would not jus aimlessly kick the ball up the ramp per se.
as for the dinner after the program, wow it really unexpected cos it was the first time there were so many ppl eating at the same time and this made it really complicated to get seats. somemore amk was damn crowded like chinatown. thanks for the farewell dinner, pls continue to come back if you all can and continue to have more dinners together during my absence.... and remember to join the acid camp in june! and most importantly... keep this blog updated man. i read it very often one....
