First visit in 2010 - 2 Jan

Last Saturday was the first visit in 2010 - a good way to start off the new year at Mindsville :D

The day's events began with three different activities. Firstly, there was food preparation for teabreak with healthy and juicy fruits. Secondly, an arts-and-crafts session on making paper airplanes. Lastly, a drama session involving many interesting games.

Cutting the fruits for teabreak

The delicious end products. Aren't the fruits so happy and colourful?

Meanwhile, the second group was working hard on creating their paper planes.

So you fold the paper here...

And here again...

Almost done!

The finished product! Somehow all the paper planes I learnt how to make in my childhood were a lot simpler-looking...

Taking the planes on their maiden flight!

And last but most certainly not least, the third group had fun with a variety of highly social activities - ranging from dressing up to playing charades.

Playing a ball game to remember everyone's names

What you do, I'll do too!

It's time for a costume change!

WE'VE FOUND THE JOKER!

One very convincing joker!

This bird's about to fly away...

Zorro tries his best.

While the pirate tells you to walk the plank...

... and the cowboy rides off into the sunset!

It just so happened that my finger covered the flash as it set off, making this "ghost" appear even more eerie!!

Moving on to charades, with everyone somehow still in costume...

This Zorro washes his face!

Pirates have to shower too, you know!

Apparently "ghosts" can eat now!

Funfit 2 moved everyone up to the hall for all sorts of ball games.

Captain's Ball, a perennial favourite!

On the other side of the hall, testing hand-to-eye coordination with ball-throwing activities.

SCORE!!!

Getting further and further from the hoop!

And that concludes the first visit of the year! Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year, and may 2010 be fulfilling and rewarding for everyone. Looking forward to more visits coming up in the year ahead!
