Where is the love?

"Love is in the air..."

"Everywhere I look around..."

"Love is in the air..."

"Every sight and every sound..."

It happens that we had a visit on Valentine's Day this year. In line with the... significance of the date, some big-hearted folks among us distributed candy to their fellow volunteers. Merci beaucoup!
And yes, before YC publicises my mini "scandal", I shall (sigh) "incriminate" myself first. (But in so doing, I shall, in fact, be stealing his thunder!) Well, more on that later, but for now, read on!

For the first half, the residents folded paper bags. A new feature of the activity is the feedback forms, which the volunteers help to fill out. These forms enable us to gauge whether or not the residents can perform each step of the process accurately and without prompting. (In my humble opinion, this is a good way to monitor the progress of the residents, so that improvements can be made to the programme if necessary. Thus, kudos to whoever thought this up!)
Check out the tottering pile of paper bags we ended up with! (I hope they were re-used or recycled -- save the Earth!)

For the second half, we had station games. Elvin promoted his magical, levitating eggs: "Buy one, get one free!"

Wow, those eggs sure were popular. Everyone seemed to be racing for them, getting some good, arm-stretching exercise in the process.

Modern art:

"Too much candy gonna rot your soul..." So yea, remember to eat your vegetables. Carrots are good for your eyesight:

And the residents needed good eyesight to spot the hidden carrots along this road slope:

We didn't quite have a path scattered with rose petals, but we did have hoola hoop "paths", where the residents moved from one end of the corridor to the other by continuously placing hoola hoops in front of themselves to create a "path".

Walking down the aisle, in a way. The residents balanced bean bags on their heads while weaving their way through the cones on the floor. This was good for developing their coordination and balancing skills.

And since it was V-Day, we had an outing... to Botak Jones (how "romantic").

Check out what Dennis had:

The one that got away -- here's a slice of lemon that slipped from Pauline's dainty fingers, and onto the floor:

The Dog, courtesy of Dennis. Isn't it adorable?

And XH graced us with his presence:

And yes, my mini "scandal". Well, nothing much. XH had gotten roses for the girls in our class (YC, XH and I are classmates), so he passed me mine when he came over. That's all. So there, YC, take that! No more scandal! Hur hur...

haha.. i do agree with the post above that when u least hope to get picked u get picked in the lucky draw.. haha cuz i was also thinking 'wun so suay (unlucky) ba..." yeah.. but luckily i was exempted and therefore the lucky (or unlucky person goes to SY.. oops hehe not sure if im suppose to say its u)

anyw, i thought i also want to contribute a few lines.. mainly because i cnt suppress my urge to comment on the photo with the colour ball.. it really looked like those molecules join together to form a comopound.. (haha.. its ok if u don't see what i mean but liming should know)

and for the carrot station... i feel that its a great job el (in the case elicia) has done yeah.. cuz she really produced the large amt of carrots within a v short time and also pasted them in various inconspicious places (e.g below a grass blade, next to flowers.. den the flowers are of the same colour somemore!)yeah.. i almost cnt find when taking out lor..
